Adrian McCoy from the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette recently sat down with Jimmy Krenn to discuss his upcoming show at the Byham Theater:
“Audiences who’ve been missing Jim Krenn’s locally grown humor can reconnect with the Pittsburgh stand-up comedian and former radio host at “Jim Krenn aLive,” a comedy/music variety show headed to the Byham Theater on Saturday. A portion of the event’s proceeds benefits Animal Friends.
His guests include fellow stand-up comics Billy Elmer, Frank Nicotero and Mark Eddie, along with artist/writer/filmmaker/performer Tom Megalis, and several musicians: Scott Blasey, lead singer of The Clarks, country/rockabilly singer Slim Forsythe and the Rod Schwartz All Star Band.
“It’s going to be a mixture of where I’ve been, where I am, where I’m going,” Mr. Krenn said.
…The show is also a way of saying thank you to his loyal listeners. “I’m just overwhelmed by the listeners” since his exit from the WDVE-FM morning show. “They are still behind me so much. I read all the posts online. They’ve made it an actual nice experience for me. Kindness can be medicine in a lot of ways.”
